About

Abibigromma was created with the intension of harmonizing our unique socio-cultural music, dance and drama into beautiful artistic expressions on stage. These artistic expressions and stage performance often occur at home and abroad. At home we can be seen at a variety of places including the National Theatre, public promotional campaigns or at our Efua T.Sutherland drama studio at Legon. We do travel occasionally abroad and this occurs as a result of bilateral efforts between the university and other institutions.

Under the direction of others including Dr. Mohammed Ibn Abdallah, the group was established in 1982, firstly as a repertory Compamy of the School of Performing Arts with the sole mission of promoting and researching into the Performing Arts of Ghana, West Africa and the entire continent. The ompany tries to portray the uniqueness of modern theatre and feeds upon the accumulated resources and heritage of oral and written performance literature of the continent of Africa.
